A Blessed Day
The sun is beginning to set; The sky is starting to darken, The grass with dew is getting wet. Now the fireflies are glowing, Some trees take on an eerie form; The moon it does brighten the night, The crickets chirp til early morn. A doe in the woods nestles down, All her warmth she offers her fawn; And it gladly accepts her love, As it will til the coming dawn. Darkness has now taken over, It s time to return to our nests; The trail for today is ended, It s time for our much deserved rest. Time to count our many blessings, Give thanks to our Lord up above; For all He has given today, Through His gracious kindness and love. A near perfect day is over, Time for us to sleep for the night; A new day will come soon enough, When again we ll rise with His light.
