To enjoy a day upriver
Quietness of earth also sky
In the sweet bye and bye
God is the giver
Summer sun shines on river
Wavelets lap the shore
Weeping willows sighing afore
Hour after hour a lovely view
Of the sky so very blue
On this sweet summer day
Through the clouds god watches today
Lazy white clouds hardly move atall
Hear far off a bird call
Riverbanks edged with pickerel weed
Blue vervian plus pearly arrowhead
This day fills a hearts deep need
More than meat and daily bread
Hidden cricket chirps, wood thrush sings
God gives common simple things
Also peace he instantly brings.
