Flowers and mountains.

A Matter Of Time

Fifteen billion years or more since the universe began,
But a mere sixty years and ten for Man's allotted span.
Barely an instant of universal time is set for Man's existing
Then gone, and left behind sparse memory persisting.

Man may aspire to greatness and to rise above the mass
But shortly, as St Peter says, they wither like the grass,
And all tthe glory they attain is like flowers of the field
Which, in but a season, their lives to death must yield.

But, unlike grass and flowers, Man hopes to be spared death
And gain new life in eternity, far beyond this planet earth.
This hope rests in Jesus, come to save us from sins we'd sown
And paying the price in our place, to claim us as His own.

Jesus asks only that we trust Him and His values try,
Then with faith He'll save us, and so we shall not die.
It is God's greatest gift to us, when ties to earth we sever
We may claim a place with Jesus, and in His Kingdom live forever!

"All men are like grass, and all their glory is like the flowers of
the field: the grass withers and the flowers fall,"  1 Peter 1:24
