A Warrior's Prayer

Heavenly Father, I am preparing for battle
by dressing myself in your spiritual armor.
So I can withstand the wiles of the enemy
and be protected from Satan's schemes.

I girdle myself with the garment of truth
that your word will be hidden in my heart.
So I wont be a victim of Satan's lies
but be anchored in the truth of the gospel.

I have on the breastplate of righteousness
to protect and shield my heart from evil.
So I will remain pure in your sight
and unstained by the evil of the world.

I have on my feet your shoes of peace
so that I may be able to stand firm,
and not be swayed by the forces of darkness.
But resist the enemy and render him powerless.

I have the shield of faith as my protection
against the fiery darts of the evil one.
So not to be vulnerable to Satan's attacks
lest I experience spiritual defeat.

I have on my head the helmet of salvation
to keep my mind focused heavenward.
So that Satan and his forces wont be able
to place strongholds on my thoughts.

As your warrior Lord, today by faith
I have put on your armor with all its weapons.
Now I am fully prepared and well equipped
to live this day in spiritual victory!
