Autumn Skies
a host of white clouds towers high. They levitate on wafting breeze, high above the tall pine trees. The western sky soon loses its blue and turns a glorious rosy hue. Then dying embers fade to gray as dark streaks signal the end of day. And as I watch, time ticks on by, interrupted only by my sigh. As shadows of evening begin to grow long, a nesting bird chirps bedtime songs. Then one-by-one, the stars pop out til there are far too many to count, and as I sit, I'm mesmerized by the glorious sight before my eyes. And for a while, time stands stone still; as earth and sky and Spirit fill my grateful heart with peace anew like roses glistening with morning dew. The darkness holds for me no fright, for I am not alone this night. I know my Master is always near and when I call, I know he'll hear. He gives me courage to face each day and gently guides me on my way, and when night falls, I find sweet rest cradled in his gentleness. And as I sit and watch, I know how blessed I am; he loves me so. Without his love, I'd never see sweet reminders he left for me. Copyright © 2011 All Rights Reserved |
