Do Not Be Afraid

"Do not let your hearts be troubled,
Do not be afraid!"  John 14:27
As we travel earth's byways,
We sometimes fear we can't make the grade.

We never know what's around the bend,
What rivers we must cross,
How high the hills before us,
Where dark days are storm-tossed.

We all live with uncertainty,
Some days we face with fear,
But when we look to Jesus,
His help is always near.

Spend some time with our Savior,
Do it every day,
And as we get to know Him,
He will lead us all the way.

We may still have our troubles,
But we won't have to face them alone,
He will give us strength and wisdom,
That will keep us from tripping on a stone.

Life has never been this sweet before,
And our hearts begin to sing,
He is our warm blanket,
On the coldest day of spring.

Thank God for His precious Son,
For His love that sets us free,
From the fears of tomorrow,
And for all eternity.
