Jesus

Jesus, sentinel of my heart;
Healer of my soul;
Ruler of my universe,
To You, I yield control.

For You alone are worthy
Of all my praise and faith.
You alone, oh Lord, my Christ,
Consume my every breath.

Jesus, Jesus, lifelong Friend,
I'll always cling to You.
When this earthly show rings down
And life in flesh is through;

All my shame long washed away,
Sins, too, seven times seven,
You'll whisk me up on angel wings
To live with You in heaven.

The veil that hides Your countenance
From sight, now firm in place,
Will vanish as a puff of steam.
I will see Your lovely face!
