Lilac Time
It's lilac time again,
The blooms are purple and white,
Their soft fragrance fills the air,
Morning, noon, and night.
Blossoms large and attractive,
On slender, sturdy limbs,
Home to the robins and the bluebirds,
As they sing their sweet hymns.
Beneath a peaceful blue sky,
Drift fluffy clouds of white,
And the sun sends golden rays,
To keep the day warm and bright.
Spring has it's surprises,
From violets and daffodils,
To the rolling thunder,
Over cloudy, rain-washed hills.
Farmers till their barren fields,
And plant their corn and wheat,
While the Lilacs bloom again,
That only God can create.
Oooh! The joys of springtime!
Oooh! The love He so freely shares,
With all His thankful children,
When we show Him that we care.
When I see the beauty,
Of Lilacs blooming in the spring,
I see behind the dark clouds,
And my heart can't help but sing.
Let's keep on being thankful,
And sing praises from the heart,
God knows our every desire,
As He prepares another work of art.

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry. I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit. Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments. May God richly bless you. Send emails to: EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
