Matter Of Time

With the Lord a day is like a thousand years,
and a thousand years are like a day.  2 Peter 3:8

God was before He made heaven's array,
And still will be when it's passed away,
For it was with creation time was begun,
To end when this world's race has run,
While God remains, ending never,
But living on for ever and ever.

So, what care for time has One eternal,
Who rules o'er all things universal,
Including time: past, present, future say,
Thousands of years or just a day ?
It's all the same for God on High,
Who lives forever and does not die!

God dwells in all time! In his own way
This is what Peter was trying to say.
Not limited by any time or space,
Nor any weakness of the human race,
God is patient and counts time the cost
Of waiting for Man, to ensure none are lost.
