My Sun & Shield

Today, the loneliness
Must forever flee
For The LORD,
Our God, Almighty
Has brought you here, to me.

Today, the radiance
Streaming from your eyes
Declares love
Powerfully burning,
That you have held inside.

Today, the timeless bond
Sealed forever in you and me;
This sacred tie
That binds Us,
Throughout eternity.

Today, I promise you
In all the days we share
I will always
Represent your cause
No matter when, or where.

And when the days are long
Filled with clouds so grey
When all things
Appear to go wrong,
And trouble comes, what may.

Never forget, you are my sun.

When oppressors arise
And attack our peace
Challenging;
The enemy roars
His threats to be released.

Never forget, I am your shield.

Now let us speak these vows
Then begin to swiftly run
Paths of life
We've chosen to tread
For Darling, we are one!

"For the LORD God is a sun and shield:
