I am the daughter of a soldier.
I treasure liberty,
Because my father taught me
That freedom is not free.
For every right and privilege
Someone has paid the cost
In blood and sweat and tears
And in lives we lost.
Some heroes walk among us
And defend us every day,
While others trod on foreign soil
Some thousand miles away.
Each is a reminder
Of the ones who've gone before,
Remembered now in glory,
In prayers and tales of war.
And in case you've neglected
To give them what they re due,
Rise now and be counted
For the Red, the White, the Blue.
Old Glory's but a symbol
Of the legacy we share.
To keep her flying proud and strong,
Americans must care.
We must not sit in apathy
And let our freedom die.
We have to rise to action
And boldly question, Why?
In the past we've proven
That Americans Can Do.
Our country is in jeopardy
And her future is up to you.
