Rebuilding

I've learned that I must take a break,
It's one that I'd rather not do;
My doctor says that it's needed,
But it will take me away from you.

This Tuesday I'm having surgery,
Just to replace my worn out old hip;
My arthritis stole all the cartilage,
Or maybe it was the fall from a slip.

Either way, it has to happen,
And though it won't be any fun;
I will be back, just wait and see,
Once I get this surgery done.

For now I've put it in God's hands,
But why He wants to rebuild me;
Is beyond my understanding,
Guess I'll just have to wait and see.

Growing old is sure an adventure,
Simply another lesson in life;
But I thank God for all my blessings,
Like the freedom from worry and strife.

God has been much too kind to me,
So often I do question why;
For I am still undeserving,
For half my life I've lived a lie.

Thank You Lord, for giving me faith,
For rebuilding my body and soul;
Thank You Lord for just loving me,
And thank You for making me whole.

On the trail of life every person needs a place to restore their soul.
( Native American Indian proverb )

Have a wonderful day and may God bless you always.
