Speak To Me In Simple Words

When we come to You Jesus,
You promised never to leave us,
Others made such promises too,
time proved those promises untrue.

I'm so glad that You can be trusted,
and never with me be disgusted.
For I seem to be a slow learner,
always sitting on the back burner.

I am plain and don't know much,
but I can change with Your touch.
Just be gentle with me my Lord,
with my slowness don't get bored.

I want to learn to do Your will,
Please help me listen and be still
Speak to me in simple words,
till You know that I have heard.

You're the best that I have found,
You're good company to be around.
My hearts desire is to be near You,
Just keep me close, keep me true.
