Springtime Splendor
I see the awesome splendor of a misty April day,
As the sun peaks through the clouds, and green leaves unfold along the way.
Dandelions spread their golden hue across the countryside...
And restless breezes blow, as a robin sings with pride.
I thank God for these treasured gifts that help lift life's heavy heart...
For a butterfly that hovers low, over a rhubarb plant, tender and tart.
I thank Him for the gentle rain, for white clouds or the dark...
For frisky gray squirrels playing in our town's small, fragrant park.
I thank Him for the sturdy trees, for graceful lilac blooms...
Dancing in a gusty breeze, wafting high it's sweet perfume.
"Everything has a purpose, that our Lord has made...
It all works for our good, be it sunshine or shade.
Spring has it's own surprises, it may not always wear a smiling face...
Yet it's beauty will always amaze me, it's never commonplace!
Just to feel the warmth of springtime, after winter's freezing days...
Will always spark a smile within, to Him I lift my song of praise!
Green is the color of life, that's what I've been told...
The sun and rain bring back the green, as I watch Mother Nature's love unfold.

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry. I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit. Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments. May God richly bless you. Send emails to: EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
