Thankful Gratitude

We all have reason to be thankful,
They can be large or something small;
We thank God for changes in fortune,
We may not notice small things at all.

The sun streaming through our windows,
The birds flying out of a tree,
A day from pain for a loved one,
The fact that you simply can be.

The beat of the rain in the winter,
The warmth of the fire on the hearth,
These are the things to give thanks for
To bless them for what they are worth.

God gives us blessings each day
That we hardly notice are there.
We should be thankful for all things,
We should try to be more aware

Of the wonders that daily surround us;
We should give prayers of thanks every day
For God's blessings, no matter how small.
They all show His love in their way.
