The Upward Climb
I've had the proverbial 'Pot of Joy',
The bubbling stream of delight...
Now the playful, strayful daytime,
Has turned into trembling night.
No matter who the gamester,
Or how we walk through life...
We taste the bitter-sweetness,
The struggles and the strife!
The paths we follow casually,
Are often strewn with thorns...
It takes half a life-time,
To find we're lost and worn.
The years that hurried by us,
Filled with suffering and distress,
Now mellow into memories,
Of accomplishment and success.
For deep within our aging souls,
Our faith has grown with time...
Our Lord has loved and blessed us,
And inspired our long, long, climb.

It gives me a warm feeling in my heart to write poetry. I am a "Golden Ager" shut-in and writing keeps my mind busy with something I've done ever since I was a child, and it's my way of sharing our LORD with who ever comes to visit. Thanks for reading my poetry - I'd love to hear your comments. May God richly bless you. Send emails to: EvaYoung @ SkyWriting.Net
