We the children of earthly men;
Are running in life's race.
Some are running, oh so slow;
Others at a quicker pace.
Most are running unaware.
Some are running with no care.
Some are running just for fun.
Some are running in a chair.
Because all in life are running;
Towards a finished end.
All will meet that final day.
It could be at any bend.
Some are wearing right shoes.
Some are wearing wrong.
Wearing wrong shoes on your run;
Makes it hard and makes it long.
I see the boots of working men.
I see the hills of fashions world.
I see the flip flops flapping by.
I see the blisters as they cry.
Trusting in a pair of shoes unfit;
Like, loafers or squeakers or pumps.
Suffering down the path of life;
Their griping and frowning, their grumps.
Some are laughing, some are leaping.
Still, they won't win in the end.
By trusting in some wrong pair;
That will never, ever, get them there.
But there are runners in this race;
They wear the winning shoe.
Not the Nike, Not the Reebok;
No, No Name brand shoe will do.
Salvation is the winner's shoe;
That gets one through to heavens gate.
For all that wear these comfy shoes;
Will win this race and celebrate.
While you're running in some other shoes;
Traveling this road in pain and loss.
Stop right now, and change your shoes.
Run to the Lord take up His cross.
Let's run together side by side;
Wearing Salvation, the winning shoes.
When trusting in Christ to save;
You WIN! you'll never, ever lose.
Let's praise the One, Who gave His Son;
Wearing the shoes of Salvation free.
And when we cross that finished line
How SWEET! our VICTORY! will be.

Know ye not that they which run in a race run all, but
one receiveth the prize? So run, that ye may obtain.
And every man that striveth for the mastery is temperate
in all things. Now they do it to obtain a corruptible crown;
but we an incorruptible. 1 Corinthians 9:24-25
