Trusting God to Watch Them
My uncle's out at sea. My cousin joined the Coast Guard When he was twenty-three. My brother's in the army, And right now he's in Iraq. I can't tell you how much I miss them all And want them to come back. But even stronger than those feelings Of wanting them with me, Are the ones of pride, because I know They're helping us stay free. It's true, I fear their safety, Wish I knew they were okay. But worrying doesn't help. I've chosen now to pray. As each new day approaches And when the moon I've seen, I pray for them at these times And all the hours in between. So I'm trusting God to watch them In everything they do. And I know that all these loved ones Are trusting in Him, too. And in my frequent prayers I'm always sure to say: God bless every soldier, And God bless the U.S.A.! ~ Alyssa Marie Bentham ~ [ by: Alyssa Marie Bentham Copyright © 2009 ( retrogal27@yahoo.com ) -- submitted by: Alyssa Bentham ]Inspirational Poems SkyWriting.Net All Rights Reserved. |
