We Could Learn
A big black dog and a Calico cat
Got into a fuss and a horrible spat
The cat m-e-o-w-e-d and hissed like that
Such a loud noise in no time flat.
The dog growled and barked so loud
This drew a large and applauding crowd
These animals created a huge dust cloud
Then the cat strutted on and so proud.
The big dog rolled its dark brown eyes
Then looked around with great surprise
The cat returned to hopefully win a prize
Somehow, that appeared to not be wise.
The crowd noticed and applauded again
The dog turned to see...and then ran
The dog and cat seemed to have a plan
They touched noses...more peaceful than man.
They lay near one another in total peace
If man would do likewise...wars would cease
Oh, that love of mankind would increase
Every life would receive a new lease.
Man could and should learn a lesson or two
If they would just be careful what they do
Arguments would then be slight and only a few
Peace must begin first with me...and you.
