Communion Memories
Shared sumptuous meals, received warm embraces, Each meal together a memory to hold, As they pondered His impact on heart-hungry faces. Sometimes by the seaside, scant lunch was prepared, Or in crowds of seekers, a miracle shared; Each meal together a memory to hold, Recalling the Master and His passionate care. On the last day with His friends, bread was broken; He told them the bread and the wine were a token-- His body and blood in their memories to hold To cherish forever the Words He had spoken. Today, as we gather to share in communion, We remember, and join in mysterious union; The bread and the cup stir a memory of love, And we look for the day of our joyful reunion. All Rights Reserved |
