Where is your peace?

What makes it that way?

This place, the one you are in when you read those words, go there in your thoughts. Take a moment. No matter what is happening around you. What you are feeling is what we all fight for. This peace. This relief and unshackling of all of our hurts and pains. In this place; this place of peace, this is where we fight from.

Philosopher and apologetic, GK Chesterton wrote “The true soldier fights not because he hates what is in front of him, but because he loves what is behind him.”

In life, we have our battles, but it is up to us to identify our peace and take it with us into those places. That’s how we survive. That is how we stand strong. That’s how we best choose the paths for our lives.

In the movie Gladiator, Russell Crowe’s character Maximus is asked to describe his home by his leader, Marcus Aurelius. His description and fondness become the fire in his heart and soul for why he continues to fight throughout the film. Listen to his reflective and fond description.

So, think again, where is your peace? In this journey of life, we must decide our direction and the passion to pursue it from this place.
